About The Al Ur Pal Project

Al Wordlaw, the creative force behind The Al Ur Pal Project, is a Chicago firefighter of faith turned 90s R&B soul artist. His music blends the heart of Motown with the smooth grooves of 90s R&B and uplifting gospel, reflecting his journey as a Seventh-day Adventist and certified minister.

Over the years, Al has worked with notable names in R&B, including RushingMaxx TraxxThe Dells (with producer Tom Tom 84), Heaven and Earth, and Barbara Acklin of “Love Makes a Woman” fame, once married to Eugene Record of the legendary Chi-Lites. His track “Happy Sabbath Day” has become a hallmark of his mission to create music that inspires love, faith, and resilience.

Today, Al collaborates with artists like Shen Asidors and Huly Ray Asidors, and is working with Motown legend Michael B. Sutton to reimagine his catalog and bring a modern polish to his timeless R&B sound. His latest release, “Still Want To Go On”, continues his legacy of creating music that uplifts, connects, and ignites the soul.
